17th day of Lent

They will look on the one whom they have pierced.

Dear children! I wish to tell you that the cross should be central these days. Pray especially before the cross from which great graces are coming. Now in your homes make a special consecration to the cross. Promise that you will neither offend Jesus nor abuse the cross. Thank you for having responded to my call. September 12, 1985

We can stay before the Cross and adore it because Jesus Christ suffered on the Cross; we can also weep looking at the figure of Jesus suffering. Without doubt this helps us to deepen our spiritual life and to find communion with God; but there is another aspect which we must discover, and which Jesus suggested to the women who wept when they saw his suffering. Jesus told them that they should look at their own cross, the cross of their children who behave badly. When we are before the Cross, we must discover the truth that Jesus is not on the wood, but Jesus is within me, on my cross; Jesus is crucified on the cross of others – the sick, the oppressed, the sinners. Jesus is crucified in us, so we have to discover the presence of Jesus within us. Fr Tomislav Vlasic

Lent in Action… GIVE TIME TO GOD

Decide to give more time to God who gave you these days of grace. March 25, 1991

Three times each day he continued to fall on his knees, praying and giving praise to God as he had always done. Daniel 6 : 10
