10th day of Lent

They will look on the one whom they have pierced.

Dear children! For these days while you are joyfully celebrating the cross, I desire that your cross also would be a joy for you. Especially, dear children, pray that you may be able to accept sickness and suffering with love the way Jesus accepted them. Only that way shall I be able with joy to give out to you the graces and healings which Jesus is permitting me. Thank you for having responded to my call. September 11, 1986

Christ himself carried a burden, and his burden – the cross – was made heavier by the sins of us all. But Christ did not avoid the cross; he accepted it and carried it willingly. Moreover, he now stands beside those weighed down by trials and persecutions, remaining beside them to the end. It is for all people and with all people that he carries the cross to Calvary, and it is there that for all of us he is nailed to his cross. He dies a death of a crimminal, the most humiliating death known to the world at that time. That is why to those in our own century who carry terrible burdens he is able to say: “Come to me! I am your Brother in suffering. There is no humiliation or bitterness which I do not know.” Pope John Paul ll

Lent in Action… LIVE IN HOLINESS

Especially, dear children, I am calling that by your prayers and sacrifices you begin to live in holiness, because I desire that each one of you who has been to this fountain of grace will come to Paradise with the special gift which you shall give me, and that is holiness. November 13, 1986

…dear brothers, let us wash off all that can soil either body or spirit, to reach perfection of holiness out of reverence for God. 2 Corinthians : 7 : 1
