Joy, not jitters!

While reading some of Our Lady’s messages recently I discovered these most encouraging words.

I desire that through you the whole world may get to know the God of joy. By your life bear witness for God’s joy. Do not be anxious nor worried. God himself will help you and show you the way. (part message, May 25, 1988)

This is a wonderful confirmation from Our Lady telling us not to fear the future and that God’s plan is to bring joy to the whole world, not despair, misery or hopelessness, not disaster and ruin.

But there is a caveat in there when Our Lady says it is through us that joy will come to the world, that we must bear witness. This suggests that we have been given responsibility, that we are required to be an example by our lives and, encouragingly, God WILL help us. There are already a couple of instances where Our Lady has thanked her children for helping to realise part of God’s plans.

So it seems that it is our effort, prayer and sacrifices, our response, that Our Lady and God are banking on. What a wonderful vote of confidence. All is not lost.

In another message Our Lady says that we do not understand just how important each of us are to God’s plan: Dear children, I want you to comprehend that God has chosen each one of you, in order to use you in His great plan for the salvation of mankind. You are not able to comprehend how great your role is in God’s design.
(part message, January 25, 1987)

But more importantly, I don’t feel she is speaking just to those who have set out on the path of conversion. I sincerely believe she is speaking to ALL of her children, including those who have yet to know the love of God. Perhaps this is why she entreats us constantly to pray for these people (unbelievers).

If Our Father in heaven has no hope in his children then who can? Our Father is the source of all hope, mercy and love. So amid all the gloom and doom that surrounds us every day, let’s look for the Light in our lives instead, with hope and faith in God’s promise of joy not jitters.
